In the picturesque village of El Maguito, where the necessity of a horse to cross the river marked the rhythm of life, my story began. I am Ana De los Angeles, and my journey is one of resilience, determination, and the unwavering belief that dreams can be realized against all odds.

Life took a challenging turn when my family moved to Moca, and at a tender age, I found myself tasked with caring for my seven siblings while my mother sought opportunities in the USA. The responsibility molded me into a pillar of strength, instilling in me the power to endure and persevere through life’s hardships.

At the age of 20, I made the bold decision to join my mother in the United States. However, the promise of a new beginning came with unexpected challenges. A marriage that seemed promising at first turned stifling, hindering my dreams, divorce did not take long to approach. Despite this, I emerged from the experience with three beautiful children, my greatest accomplishments.

Determined to break free from limitations, I enrolled at The Art Institute of New York, where my love for baking and cooking flourished. Becoming a pastry chef became my sanctuary, a place where I found solace and expressed my creativity. Through dedication and hard work, I established myself as a renowned baker in Washington Heights, creating delightful confections for both ordinary folks and a few notable personalities.

Life took another turn in 2015 when I, along with my amazing husband, decided to make a fresh start in New Haven, CT. Working at a local coffee shop, I nurtured my dream of one day owning my own establishment. In 2019, that dream materialized, and I became the proud owner of a thriving coffee shop.

Beyond just owning a business, I’ve succeeded in building meaningful connections within the town. My journey spans from the rustic charm of El Manguito to the vibrant streets of New Haven. I take pride in the bridges I’ve built, connecting my small village to the bustling life I now lead.

My life’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the belief that every woman, regardless of her beginnings, can rise above challenges and shape her destiny. From the small country village in the Dominican Republic to the proud owner of a successful coffee shop in New Haven, I am Ana De los Angeles, and my journey continues to empower and inspire.
